We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer for a client of ours in Raleigh, NC. This is a Junior level position for a candidate who has recently graduated and has 1 to 2 years of experience of Java Development. This is individual will work in our QA group across all product lines creating regression tests. Great opportunity for growth in the future!! Primary responsibilities for this role include: Design test cases based on written requirements, documented software structure, and business or operational scenarios Should be able to develop test plan, Test scenarios, Develop/Write test cases, and execute test cases, defect analysis and reporting using bug tracking tools. Serve as a member of an independent test team to perform stress testing using performance/load testing tool. Very strong SQL Server skills Experience testing front-end web user interfaces Knowledge of data Warehouse/reporting/ETL, including understanding of dimensional data models and source/target mapping Experience using Subversion source control Experience with a variety of testing tools Experience leveraging open-source tools and technologies Ability to work with large and complex data sets Experience working with relational databases Utilize manual tools such as check lists, test scripts and decision tables for testing Use defect management tools for defect logging and reporting Collect test measurements capturing results and progress toward improvement in internal development and testing processes Perform ongoing maintenance of a test environment (e.g. updating test data, adding new test data and test cases, coordinating new modules or tables to be added to the test environment). Perform configuration management for a test environment. Additional Qualifications Bachelors and/or Masters Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical discipline. Several years of relevant experience will also be considered A minimum of 1 years hands-on, real-world software testing Strong working knowledge of software design and development methodology Strong working knowledge of testing methodologies and strategies Quality management: ability to effectively execute/improve the QA methodology to eliminate any errors from being migrated to production Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must as is a demonstrated ability to work effectively with end-users as well as cross functional technology teams.
