VOIP Systems Administrator

Candidates should have strong understanding of Cisco VoIP technologies and systems, and will be responsible for maintaining and supporting VoIP applications and systems (both Cisco and Nortel). Candidates MUST have Cisco Call Manager application/system support experience at the enterpise level. Position Description Responsible for system administration of Cisco and Nortel Enterprise Voice and Unified Communications applications, however Nortel experience is NOT required, but a plus. Responsible for the system integrity of all monitoring systems and tools associated with the configuration and management Unified Communications applications and components. May assist personnel in various projects, triage and direct activities that lead to meeting standard service level agreements for enterprise Unified Communications. Provide assistance and oversight to Field Support in the response to incidents and/or projects associated with Unified Communications. May lead team members to insure tasks assigned are met and goals are achieved. Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Responsible for regular installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of all software related to Unified Communications components. Job Duties Generally responsible for providing systems and database support for Centura Unified Communications Applications. Ability to coordinate various systems. Identify and manage new system and database specifications, user services and coordination of installations. Analyze, design, and make recommendations to improve existing systems and databases and/or methods, and provide written, detailed reports of such. Assess assigned areas for efficiencies and effectiveness. Evaluate alternative services and technology solutions on an ongoing basis and assures cost-effective solutions. Coordinate the preparation of departmental and interdepartmental policies and procedures, job functions, operating procedures, manuals, and system documentation. Maintain complete and up-to-date project documentation for all assigned projects. Assist with a variety of related projects on an ad hoc basis. Operational Competency Statements: • Understand and apply technical data network design principles and concepts. • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Able to communicate detailed specifications of related monitoring equipment. • Demonstrates strong Cisco IOS skill set and ability to administrate communications equipment in conjunction with monitoring hardware and software. • Demonstrate strong Cisco Unified Communication skill set to administrate Enterprise Voice and overlay technologies. • Demonstrate proficiency with numerous Unified Communication configuration and management tools. Formal Education Required and/or Equivalent Experience: • Education: Minimum- Associates Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent work experience considered. • Experience: 5 years or more experience of healthcare operations preferred. Must have 3-5 years of increased responsibility and skill set on a variety of Voice and Data Networking. Training or Certifications Required: Cisco CCNA-Voice required. CCNP-Voice Preferred.
