EdgeTech Consulting seeks a VB.Net Developer and Analyst for our direct client in St. Louis, MO. Preferences will be given to candidates eligible to work on our direct W2. A face to face meeting will be required. This is a minimum 18 month engagement with possible extension. Requirements and Responsibilities: Maintain and develop client-server programs, scripts and job streams supporting Supply Chain applications using VB.NET, DB2, and complimentary languages and tools Provide technical application and infrastructure troubleshooting and support for production users and internal application support/testing personnel Mid-level SQL experience required Contribute key input in solution design discussions, based on training and experience Adhere to management decisions and preferred standards Able to focus on business requirements and let those items drive technical design decisions Able to identify and escalate issues appropriately and provide timely progress updates Participate in business requirements meetings and design reviews with business users and other IS team members Excellent oral and written communication required Able to balance & prioritize multiple tasks on her/his own, ensuring that all deadlines are met Must be able to work closely with business analysts and/or directly with various user groups to understand the business requirements and translate them into an effective design. Will need to work closely with the existing development team to ensure all requirements & coding standards are followed. Description of Technical Development/Support Role: Our client is currently using a 3rd party warehouse management system (WMS) that is running at 14 independent warehouses. The WMS application is interfaced to SAP and various other internal systems. This position would best be filled by someone who has a technical knowledge that is well rooted in client-server development (primarily VB.Net with DB2 as the database) but is also experienced in day-to-day production support and problem solving scenarios. Experience in troubleshooting both technical and data issues in a multi-tiered architecture will also be a plus. In addition to the VB.Net code and SQL for the interface programs between WMS and SAP, the team at large also supports various other supporting applications/scripts written in Perl, ASP, C#, C, C++, and COBOL. Any additional experience or familiarity with those programming languages would also be beneficial.
