The Sr. Developer will work with web and application developers and architects to define system architecture, including researching new technologies and proof of concept projects. Duties include: Attend project meetings and provide input to validate system design and development. As a member of the project team, the Sr. Developer will analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware, software and networks; and operational and performance requirements of overall system. Required Skills: Must be able to successfully translate an interface specification into a program. 5+ years of experience developing Oracle applications. Fluent in SQL and PLSQL. Mastery of best practices in both areas. Expertise tuning SQL statements using the various tools provided by Oracle, eg tkprof, explain plans, autotrace, etc. Deep understanding of physical data-modelling best practices, including index design, constraints, partitioning, etc. Deep understanding of Oracle application architecture, incl. RAC, statement parsing, query optimizer, etc. Familiar with new features of 11g database release. Experience with data loading processes used with Oracle, eg SQL Loader.
