Previously outsourced design work being brought in-house. This is a long term contingent opportunity with internal growth potential for a small sized company; looking to bring in a Solidworks Designer to design and produce Industrial/Commercial equipment drawing packages, according to project requirements. Will work on upcoming new equipment and make any necessary updates to existing equipment. Research and analyze design requirements. Perform new product development functions. Generate 3D assembly models, component detail drawings, & BOM. Take part in company wide Kaizen events. Prepare technical documentation and assist with certification activity, such as CE & UL. Requirements: At minimum, requires a 2 year AS degree in Engineering from accredited institution. Five years or more experience in design and drafting for commercial equipment / industrial automated machinery. Proficient skills in Solidworks; needs to be recent and relevant. Strong knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 standards Strong skills in 3D modeling, detail drafting and drawing checking. Familiar with industrial accepted design standards (SAE, ASME, etc), hydraulic/pneumatic systems, load analysis, validation techniques and methodologies. Self-starter / quick learner. This candidate will have well developed interpersonal skills, the ability to meet deadlines with little supervision and can handle multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.
