EdgeTech Consulting seeks a QA Tester / Manual Tester for a Data Warehouse project at our direct client’s offices in St. Louis, MO. This is a minimum 6-9 month project with a high probability of extending. Only those candidates authorized to work as our direct W2 employee (including, but not limited to, US Citizen, Green Card, EAD, H-1b and TN) will be considered . A face to face interview will be required. The role involves Data warehouse and Application testing spread across multiple teams supporting Point of Sale and Trade Management data. The person will work independently and unsupervised; s/he will track and monitor their own schedule, create their own status reports, and escalate issues according to risk. S/he will provide status updates as requested to the Test Team Lead. A moderate knowledge of data mapping output would be helpful. The ideal candidate will be flexible, able to change focus from one project to another as priority demands. This candidate must have, and be able to convey a sense of urgency. The candidate must have critical thinking skills and demonstrate the ability to perform root cause analysis. S/he must have a proven track record of taking the initiative and following through. Description of Responsibilities: Apply test methodology to all project work. Analyze requirements, data maps and data transformation rules. Write Test plans, Test Cases, Create Test Estimates and Report Bugs. • Execute testing according to test plan and schedule. Write SQL queries to validate data as it is moved through the various tables in Data Warehouse. Validate reports created using Business Objects and/or Cognos reporting tools. Develop testing standards and guidelines for repeatable processes. Description of Application: This position is based on a mix of Data Warehouse, application and Report testing. There will be development projects for new retailer information as well as maintenance and new reports for existing customers. The Trade related data is presented through a .Net based application. Knowledge of decision support systems and Data Warehousing is a requirement. Strong teamwork skills and excellent communication (verbal and written) required. Must Have’s: Must have strong experience working in Data Warehousing projects, relational databases environment. Must have strong SQL Skills Must have ability to write complex SQL queries. (a test will be given) Must have ability to write Excel macros and queries in MS Access. Experience with testing Enterprise reporting solutions.
