Unix System Administration (Linux) This ICT managed services company requires an experienced Linux Sys Admin with Red Hat certification for an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate will have some or all of the following attributes: - System Administration skills in Unix/Linux operating systems: - Good knowledge of virtualized environments including LPARs, Zones, Oracle VMs and KVMs - Experience working in medium to large corporate production environment - Experience in patching Unix/Linux operating systems in accordance with best practises - Solid knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies (Mirroring, Clustering and Replication) - Unix security management - Capacity planning and tuning of Unix/Linux Servers for optimum performance and stability - Implement appropriate Unix/Linux monitoring metrics - Provide server reporting based on information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing Unix/Linux server performance and trends - Unix/Linux backup and restores - Proven experience to deliver technical solutions to the business - 5+ Years Unix/Linux Experience Candidates with exposure to Oracle Database skills across 9i, 10g and 11g including recoverability, performance, optimisation, maintenance and troubleshooting will be well regarded.
