My Client in the West Midlands has a requirement for an Electronics Engineer for an intial 6 month contract: This individual shall be able to create designs incorporating both analogue and digital circuitry. Programmable logic is widely used throughout the platforms for which the individual shall be able to implement complex functionality using VHDL. In addition, this individual shall be capable of defining requirements and creating design / test specifications for all design work undertaken in accordance with the defined project management framework; resolving complex design and manufacturing problems Experience Required Experience and knowledge in the following areas of electronic hardware design * Digital/microprocessor * Analogue * Power supply The ideal candidate must have excellent FPGA design skills and ability to program using VHDL. Experience using Xilinx and Altera FPGAs is advantageous Good C programming skills for programming embedded microcontrollers and creating software test harnesses for the testing of hardware designs. Experience in the use of design/simulation tools. Familiar with latest technologies of FPGAs/CPLDs, Memories, DSP/Microcontrollers, mixed signal and analogue ICs. Ability to deliver optimized and cost effective PCB designs . Understanding of the constraints imposed on the design and component selection by long product lifetimes.
