Senior Tech Support - SuSE Linux / WebSphere . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled systems administration specialist skilled in Linux (SuSE or Red Hat), IBM WebSphere, and IBM Portal to assist in the support and maintenance of existing departmental systems. This person will be responsible for 24x7 monitoring of system infrastructure and creating reports when failure occurs. Assuming this role, you will be deploying, testing, performance tuning and administering the code changes to the existing infrastructure. Mandatory Skills: Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of installing, administering and maintaining SuSE or RedHat Linux servers Five years experience in a Web based environment, IBM WebSphere Install and administer various server applications such as application servers (WAS), portal (IBM Portal) and ID Management (TIM) Experience in deploying web based application in a clustering environment Experience with installing open source software on Linux systems, such as Apache, Heartbeat Experience in monitoring the performance of the server based hardware and software Ability to generate reports and troubleshoot system performance Create and follow through on change control for any modifications to the agency's software or hardware infrastructure Familiarity with HP servers. Ability to install Linux OS and updating all the firmware needed to bring the server up to spec; Ability to automate patching of Linux servers Ability to research open source technologies Excellent interpersonal relations, communications and people skills Desired: Experience in a corporate IT environment Experience in a customer-facing corporate environment Understanding of business process software Understand and experience in disaster recovery, backup and restore processes
