Retail Project Manager
Our Client is committed to building its in-store presence to that of an expanding and leading technology brand. The GB&I Creative Hub is a multi-disciplined team that creates and shapes a wide range of point-of-sale and retail display fixtures. The contract is based on 12 month maternity cover. Overall Role and Purpose The Retail Project Manager is responsible for delivering retail projects from brief through to manufacture and installation for GB and Ireland. They will work with Creatives and Retailer Designers (in-house and external) to develop, prototype and produce point-of-sale and retail display fixtures. This includes the development of product/brand communications. They will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, to budget and on brief and will ensure stakeholders are aware of any risks to these deliverables and the solutions to overcome them. They will source and manage a core set of suppliers and ensure quality and cost savings are continuously reviewed and optimised. The Retail Project Manager will also strive for continuous improvement by evaluating and learning from completed projects and sharing best practice with Group and International Retail Teams. Core Responsibilities •Work with in-house Creatives and Retail Designers/Developers to develop, prototype and produce point-of-sale and retail display fixtures, including the creation of product/brand communications. •Drive projects through to delivery, resolving day-to-day challenges and gaining approvals – involving the right people at the right time including Group, Health and Safety, Creative and Market stakeholders. •Create and maintain project plans, timelines and budgets/cost sheets and communicate any potential slippage and risks to delivery. •Work with Brief Owners, Group Retail and the Account Director to understand, challenge and approve retail project briefs. Ensure that all the key information is supplied and our brand requirements are considered from the outset. •Ensure GB&I activity is on-brand through consults and the sharing of best practice with the Group Retail Team. •Work with the Creative Team and Traffick Manager to develop engaging communications and ensure that artwork is fully approved and ready for prototype and final installation. •Manage a core base of suppliers so they continue to offer quality, flexibility, reliability and competitive costs. •Source new suppliers as and when required, and manage this process with Supplier Management/Finance. Assist Group Retail with audits, KPIs and confidentiality agreements. •Facilitate negotiation with the Legal department regarding supplier contracts and any disputes. •Creation of tender documentation for major projects. •Manage the assembly of prototypes for review and visit suppliers to review first-off production samples when required. •Work with the Customer Marketing team to co-ordinate deliveries into the warehouse. •Drive the development of our fixtures through knowledge of innovations, printing processes, technology and new materials. •Provide installation reports for all major shop fit installations. •Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and learning from completed projects and sharing best practice with Group and International Retail Teams. •Manage and execute retail ‘production only’ briefs. •Manage and support communication projects when required. Skills & Experience General background: •Degree or equivalent (Marketing, Business, Project Management) •Proven track record of delivering point-of-sale, merchandising, retail environments or exhibitions. •Working within a corporate structure managing both internal and external relationships. •Purchasing and negotiation skills. •Project management. •Marketing communication experience. •Presentation up to and including board level. •Dealing with sourcing and overseas manufacture and the additional issues it may raise. •Purchasing and negotiation skills •Project management •Dealing with international logistics requirements including tax, import and duty implications Technical experience: •Understanding of materials, manufacture and print/production processes used in retail environments. •Experience of working with and interpreting technical drawings and specifications. •Awareness of environmental and recycling regulations.
