Production Support Specialist - Fixed Income
A Broker Dealer Firm has an immediate need for a Production Support Specialist to assist in management of daily Production Services activities for a Fixed Income Trading Department. As part of the production support team, he/she assist in providing expertise, management and technical support of tier-one/tier-two help desk support for the derivative trade capture, electronic trading/pricing, and e-trading connectivity systems. The primary responsibility is to ensure the continued availability, stability, efficiency, and accuracy of the systems and being proactive in realizing maximum value from them through continual technical and business process improvement as well as understand exchange mandated system/connectivity changes and assist and advise electronic trading support teams to mitigate the impact and be able to serve as an expert advisor to business analysts and developers. He/She will have exposure to senior business and technology representatives so possessing excellent communication skills are able to prioritize issues, and escalate where appropriate is very critical. This is a 6+ Month Consulting Assignment. Purpose and Key Responsibilities: Work closely with and support Front Office Traders and Sales and Middle Office and Back Office Development Teams - this includes handling user queries, assure system availability with stable performance, release management, appropriate escalation, and ownership to completion of all reported issues and requests Support the lifecycle of trading, sales execution and risk management systems. Install, configure and maintain applications and deploy any changes required for the application and Infrastructure Environment Provided production support on applications for trading platforms for the following markets: Fixed Income, Treasury, Futures and emerging markets. Performed production support functions such as Server stops/restarts, crashes, analysis of price feeds, analysis of orders, rejected orders etc. and participated in root cause analysis of production issues affecting exchange or financial institutions Troubleshoot desktop/display issues, installation/configuration, connectivity issues, trade break issues, sales revenue calculation, data flow issues, how to questions Enforced application security by adding, revoking, or maintaining user entitlements with security analyst and business managers’ approval Monitored AutoSys schedule batch jobs with on-call support on a regular basis for morning, intraday, evening, over night and weekend batch data processing. Utilized JIRA and other incident management tools to track issues to resolution. Utilize UNIX commands check process, logs, directories, copy files, and check system performances. Utilized relational database(SQL, DB2, Sybase) and basic SQL syntax to generated daily ad hoc reports with for the Middle Office Sales Team Document business and system requirements ex: use cases, use case realizations, functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, and business process flow diagrams Knowledge and Experience: Minimum of 5 years in supporting application infrastructure and systems deployment and production, application, and electronic trading support experience in a Fixed Income Environment Must know how to establish and diagnose all aspects of connectivity with exchanges and other financial institutions which includes requesting, configuring, and troubleshooting of electronic trading sessions Experience on the UNIX/Linux Platform and Relational Databases (SQL or Sybase) Familiar with IT Tools (JIRA/Remedy) and metrics reporting Sense of urgency when handling production issues impacting the desk\firms ability to do business Analysis and investigation skills, with a structured approach to problem solving Ability to work under pressure and continue to support Traders, users, and applications Knowledge of eTrading Platform ION is required Excellent client facing skills with a proven track record of building relationships with business and technology stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong knowledge of Fixed Income Connectivity, Post Trade Feed, OMS Routing Strong product knowledge of Fixed Income Pricing, Risk, Analytic, Treasuries, and/or Futures *** Please contact Neal@212.993.8010 ext. 224 ONLY if you are a candidate that matches the skill set required ALL others must apply through Dice ***
