Construction Skills Tutor needed for ongoing contract position. Working with 14 - 19 year olds, you will be teaching construction skills helping individuals to gain qualifications. Duties of the role include: To develop positive relationships with all learners and create a conducive working environments Guide and assist learners with practical work, problem solving and test preparation Ensuring the course material and learner documentation meets the awarding requirements Ensure learner documentation and evidence meets the requirements of the awarding body in respect of the qualifications Work with the team in planning coherent and broad range of programmes for young learners and adults Identify and purchase necessary materials and equipment Requirements: Applicants must have or be willing to under go an enhanced CRB check for the role as you are working with young adults. The applicant will have ideally worked with the 14-19 year old age group previously and will have experience of working with hard to reach individuals. Some of the learners within the program may have displayed previous antisocial behaviour and so strong people skills are essential for this challenging role. Applicants must have the following qualifications and experience: · Working with and meeting requirements of awarding bodies · Proven experience of engaging and motivating a diverse range of learners with varying needs · Extensive experience in construction with a wide knowledge of trades. · Setting up and co-ordinating training programmes · Level 3 C+G advanced craft (or equivalent) in a construction trade · Relevant qualification in training and assessment, E.g A1 Assessor Award · Hold or working towards Award in Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or equivalent We welcome applications from candidates of all ages.
