We are looking for an Information System Engineer/Architect who will perform the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks related to the development of an enterprise technical architecture (ETA). Required Skills: Strong working knowledge of advanced engineering and administration of physical and virtual server environments, multiprotocol Routers, multilayer Switches, network security devices and network management systems. Experience with 'system of systems' technical architecture development, partitioning of functionality among applications and components, and application interfaces/interoperability concerns. System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with Web-Oriented/Service-Oriented Architecture techniques. Experience in software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development. Business domain, data/content and process understanding. Knowledge of common information architecture frameworks and information models. Data-modelling and information classification expertise. Knowledge of MDM, BI, and Datawarehouse design and implementation techniques. Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques. Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs. Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as well as to determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers. Responsibilities: Design and lead the implementation of an Enterprise Technical Architecture (ETA) based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as to rectify gaps and pain points within the current state. Analyze the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Analyze technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise. Assist with designing the governance activities associated with ensuring ETA compliance. Oversee or consult on technical architecture implementation and modification activities, particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions. Oversee or facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations. Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs. Identify the organizational impact (eg skills, processes, structures and culture) and financial impact of the ETA. Document necessary technical architecture design and analysis work, including project postmortem documentation and metric collection. Qualifications/Education: Seven to 10 years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a Client Server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including technical architecture, network design, application development, Middleware, Servers and storage, database management, and operations. Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
