Procurement Manager / Contracts Manager (Construction) Our client is a forward thinking local authority, based in one of the most attractive areas of the country. Position: Leisure projects officer Location: Crowmarsh Gifford and Abingdon Salary: Starting salary £34,815 per annum Benefits: Final salary pension scheme: flexible annualised hours working arrangement; Employee Assistance Programme; Childcare Voucher scheme; numerous well-being initiatives Duration: 5 year contract Closing date: 12 noon on 24 August 2012 Interview date: 6 September 2012 ROLE: The leisure projects officer will manage the procurement of the contract(s) for the management of up to twelve leisure facilities in South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse districts and, in parallel, the procurement and construction process for the new leisure centre for Didcot, and any other leisure facilities that are agreed during this time period. RESPONSIBILITIES: a) Working with consultants to procure the 2014 leisure management contract(s) to secure an on-going financial return for the two councils b) Working with a professional team to oversee the design and construction of a new leisure centre in Didcot and any other leisure facilities that come on board during the contract period c) Procurement of consultants to work on the above projects d) Management of successful consultants working on these projects ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: a) Qualified to HND/degree level, or equivalent qualifications, or equivalent level of relevant experience b) Experience of managing contractors and consultants c) Experience of project and financial management and monitoring d) Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects effectively and prioritise deadlines e) Ability and willingness to attend out of hours meetings Please note that all candidates who meet the essential criteria will be contacted via email and asked to complete an on-line application process.
