Our customer is seeking a Cognos Administrator/Reports Writer. Responsibilities: Heavily involved in creating reports and dashboards using all the Cognos 10 Studios Work with users and financial analysts to help determine each departments needs Technical documentation, functional testing, business user documentation and end user support Produce advanced reports using Report Studio based on databases and Transformer cube packages. This includes creating Crosstab layouts off of cubes, page sets, multiple queries, prompt pages, functions, variables, conditional blocks, drill-up/down and drill through functionality, report templates and using all the insertable objects Create dashboards that are easy to use and have a quick response time Use all the other Cognos reporting tools including Analysis Studio, Query Studio, and Business Insight Advanced as needed Create notifications and events using the Event Studio module Validate data accuracy and documenting all recently created reports Assist users in the field when they have questions about using the different studios Develop positive relationship with user community to better understand their needs and provide them with a tool to handle their reporting needs and ensure they are comfortable and confident in using it Qualifications: 3+ years of strong working experience with Cognos version 8 or 10 3+ years working with cube technology 3+ years of creating SQL queries and building reports off of SQL databases Knowledge of data warehousing concepts Microsoft Office Have a solid understanding of databases and data warehousing concepts, preferably SQL Server Knowledge of the Cognos Framework Manager and Transformer modules Previously worked in a healthcare environment Understanding of accounting concepts Knowledge of Cognos Planning or TM1 systems Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one-to-two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience About SkillStorm: SkillStorm is the nation's fastest-growing I.T.
