Location: Toronto Status: 6 Month Contract Job Category: Business Systems Analysis Career Level: Senior Work Experience: 5+ years as a BSA, 3 years of Capital Markets, SQL, Oracle, Excel, TFS, SOA, .NET, Agile Industry: Capital Markets, Investments Industry DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will be working alongside the SimCorp Platform Expansion (SPE) project team in an IT capacity. This project involves the re-configuration and expansion of the current SimCorp Dimension (SCD) application that is currently used as the company's Book of Record. The SPE project will streamline current workflows and recalibrate SCD to produce faster and better efficiencies throughout many areas including Investment Finance Operations and Performance, Compliance etc. Plans a system flow from the ground up. Interacts with Business BAs to learn and document requirements that are then used to produce system specifications documents Assists project leads and developers in collecting and documenting detailed business and information technology requirements Helps developers during system development, ex: provide uses cases, flowcharts, etc. Analyzes business and information technology requirements to outline solution alternatives considering benefits, risks, limitations and costs Collaborates with IT and Business project leads in identifying and selecting solutions for implementation Responsible for translating Business requirement documents into Specification documents. Responsible for coordinating review meetings leading to a Specification document sign off Responsible for providing updates on specific tasks assigned on the project plan Responsible for issue resolution related to aspects of the Specification Document. Communicates requirements and implementation status to respective IT stream leads Skills: Must have good communication skills. At least 5 years experience as a Business System Analyst or Business Analyst working in Technology department A minimum of 3 years experience in the investment industry (capital markets) Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Oracle technologies, MS Office (especially Excel), Team Foundation System, Service Orientated Architecture, and .NET framework related system development Knowledge and understanding of core data structure and data model concepts Experience in system development life cycle (SDLC) and good understanding of system development methodologies such as Agile etc. Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Skills (Nice to have): Ideally, the successful candidate would have a minimum of 3 years experience working with interfaces between a Portfolio Management System and its incoming data suppliers and downstream data consumers including the communications protocol.
