Kforce is currently seeking a Senior DBA for a 3 month contract-to-hire opportunity in the Cincinnati, Ohio area! This position is responsible for managing all Oracle Database platforms, related tools, and technical stack. The Admin will install, build, configure, and manage database environments to ensure availability, ease of management, stability, recovery, performance, and scalability. This position will provide robust database platforms that contribute to the steady-state operation of their complex SaaS and Web applications. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Be responsible for the day-to-day operations and 7x24 production support of the Production Application Database environments Install, configure, and manage staging, production, and disaster recovery database environments In conjunction with application and server administrators; design, implement, and manage HA and DR capabilities for the applications Implement proactive monitoring capabilities that ensure minimal disruption to the user community Monitor and tune performance; working across application, server / storage, database, and functional support areas to tune systems for optimal performance Work with management and a security team to assist in implementing and enforcing security policies Create and manage user and security profiles; ensuring application security policies and procedures are followed Design and implement database back-up and recovery procedures in conjunction with system and application administrators for comprehensive data protection Utilize various methods to provide flexible data recovery capabilities The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a 5+ years or equivalent experience A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred A minimum 5-7 years of Oracle Database Administration experience managing databases in mission-critical application environments; or equivalent combination of education and experience Oracle 10g / 11g experience (Oracle RAC experience is a plus); experience with additional tools and features: Oracle Grid Control, Real Application Testing, Partitioning, Data Guard, etc. Multi-platform exposure: Linux, Windows Platforms, HP-UX, SUN Solaris and Windows Operating Systems Licenses, Credentials, Certifications: Prefer IT Service Management (ITIL) experience or Certification Prefer Oracle DBA Certification
