Title: Security Engineer Location: Atlanta, GA (downtown) Contract Duration: 6-12 months (perm potential) Purpose: This position is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company's information assets. This will be accomplished by: Establishing and implementing an information security framework and technical architecture Designing, developing and implementing information security products Providing information security expertise and consulting Key Responsibilities: Assist in the ongoing development of our client's security architecture - identify areas of opportunity, research alternatives and recommend solutions Ensure new products and technologies conform to information security policies, standards and best practices Partner with others to identify and resolve information security issues Plan, coordinate and lead information security projects Help customers understand and apply information security concepts, processes and technologies Maintain current knowledge of information security concepts, technologies and practices Key Requirements: Strong technical consulting experience; the ability to understand business and regulatory requirements and present appropriate solutions Effectively communicate both technical and business requirements Demonstrated critical, independent thinking; demonstrated ability to conceive and present creative solutions Basic budgeting, accounting and financial skills is preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of information security concepts and best practices Experience selling security as a business enablement function through the use of documentation, metrics, and strong verbal communication Experience with network security infrastructure, modern operating systems, database applications, web applications, virtualization, and other computing technologies Extensive working knowledge and experience architecting and implementing various information security tools and products including SSL VPN's, NAC, SIEM, etc Experience with Cisco network and security infrastructure, specifically ASA, ACS, etc Experience with security assessment methodologies up to penetration testing Industry certification preferred (CISSP, GIAC, CCNP, CCSP, CCIE) Key Competencies: Effective interpersonal skills Ability to negotiate and influence others Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations Ability to function both independently and as a team member Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to learn and apply new technologies and concepts Comprehensive customer service skills Ability to prioritize work and complete assignments with little direction Must be able to pass in depth background requirements Please contact Christy Cifreo: Synergis is a woman-owned company that serves a myriad of clients across nearly all industries, from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies.
