User Experience (UX) Architect
Target Start Date: ASAP Years of Experience: Senior (7+ years) Right to hire: Yes Scope of Work: The user experience (UX) architect is a strategic and management role that requires a command of cross-channel user-centered design and refined acumen for aligning user needs and technology with business goals. This client-facing position requires assertive leadership that’s balanced with a pragmatic approach to producing effective user experience design solutions for our businesses and mission-critical applications across the enterprise. The UX architect serves as the primary liaison and lead for the UX design and development project team, and helps identify scope and approach for UX strategy and solutions. The UX architect sees a project from beginning to end in order to ensure that the desired business, user experience and user interface objectives are fully realized. Responsibilities include: Business Context Analysis – Meet with business stakeholders and capture the business model and most important business factors that have an impact on the UX strategy, content and UI features; work with business analysts to produce clear business objectives; help project managers with planning, scope and approach; UX Strategy & Management – Facilitate user experience strategy and guide project team through the appropriate life cycle that produces the intended business goals and user experience; lead client and team brainstorming session as needed; interpret primary and secondary research; produce user experience briefs and persona profiles as needed User Research – Oversee user interviews and usability testing conducted by eDG’s in-house usability analysts, UX/Interaction Design practitioners and third-party research firms Information Architecture – Provide recommendations as needed regarding navigation, information organization and the creation of information relationships for small- to mid-size information domains. Produce low-fidelity wireframe documentation with appropriate annotations according to internal best practices Collaborate with eBusiness directors, project managers, business analysts, content authors, visual/UI designers, software developers, SEO and SEM professionals to ensure a successful implementation Qualifications: Product Marketing or Management, Visual Design/Communications, Psychology/Cognitive Science, Interaction Design/Human Factors Excellent communication skills Strong leadership and problem solving skills Strong understanding of content management systems and relational database technology Understanding of current trends in smart phone mobile interfaces, responsive web design, Social media platforms, touch platforms Senior-level experience in the following areas: Client relations/management UX strategy and team management Brainstorming facilitation Business Modeling & Analysis User Experience Planning/Strategy User Research and Testing Information Architecture Draft copy and labeling for the Web Interaction Design
