POSITION OPEN AS OF AUGUST 20. Major entertainment company in Culver City has a long term contract position open for an experienced QA Lead to work on a digital media software development project for a Cloud SAAS solution. The SaaS offering is intended to streamline global production by joining all elements of the process in the cloud, allowing for creative teams to collaborate seamlessly from anywhere in the world. The QA Lead will directly lead a team of up to 4 QA resources while working with the project manager, subject matter experts, architects and software developers to facilitate the generation of test scripts, cases, and scenarios. The QA Lead will also manage the process of test execution, issue tracking, and the retesting of resolved issues. Lastly, the QA Lead will assist in architecting the load test process, security scenarios, and fail-over test scenarios. Responsibilities include the following: • Design and Document the Functional Testing Approach • Design and document the Load Testing Approach • Design and document various cloud based architecture fail-over scenarios • Work with the security team to aid in the generation in various security and penetration testing scenarios. • Manage and participate in the functional testing of the application. • Manage the break/fix process, prioritizing which bugs/issues are fixes first, and manage the test cycle process from end to end. Job Requirements: • Must have experience testing complex, multi-phased business application / product development projects (preferably in production, sales/marketing, or distribution systems). • Must have experience with the Scrum methodology and a strong understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle. • Must have digital asset management, digital production, or digital distribution experience. • Must be hands on and detail oriented. • Must have strong analytical and technical documentation skills. • Must have a take charge attitude. • Must have strong communication, listening and meeting facilitation skills to interact with all levels of users, software developers and architects. Work Experience Required: • Minimum 6 years of experience in the testing of a public facing web application • Minimum 3 years managing a QA test team/process • Minimum 1 year of scrum methodology experience • Minimum 1 year using the Jira issue tracking system is strongly preferred • Experience and familiarity with LoadRunner is strongly preferred • Digital asset management, digital production, or digital distribution or experience is preferred • Experience writing test cases in Quality Center is preferred • Experience working with AWS IaaS and PaaS is preferred • Experience using the Jira Bonfire plug-in is preferred Knowledge Required: * In depth understanding of test / QA cycle and ability to develop test cases * In depth knowledge of web based testing best practices * In depth knowledge of the Scrum methodology and the software development life cycle. * Solid understanding of web based application infrastructure * Basic understanding of relational databases concepts is a plus
