Windows Admin / Desktop Analyst Plano, TX Required Skills: 1. Experience with Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, XP, Server including file permissions 2. Desktop trouble shooting experience with MS Office 2003 and later 3. Basic Networking experience Other skill requirements: Some Active Directory experience requested but not mandatory. Powershell experience requested but not mandatory Highly organized Self Motivator Responsibilities: - Person will be doing some administrative tasks and clean up of Active Directory resources in preparation for Team Members migration to a new AD Domain. The tasks involved but not limited to are: - Get list of scheduled users and computers for each day. - Verify what computers each user has assigned, and actually uses. Clean up the list of machines that are not assigned. - Verify that each computer can register its IP address in WINS. - Remove dead machine accounts from the child domain. - Make sure the Corp\JCPSecurityAdmin group is a member of the Local Administrators group on each machine. - Make sure the firewalls are disabled on each machine, and the Remote Registry service is running. - On migration day, make sure all laptops are docked, and their wireless NIC is turned off. - Put a note on each laptop or desktop, reminding the user to log in with their JCP account the next day. - On the day of the migration, walk through the site an hour before migration, and make sure all the desktops and laptops are powered on.
