GUI Architect Indianapolis, IN Position: GUI Architect Location: Indianapolis, IN Duration: 6 – 12 Months Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Uses in depth knowledge of portal solution architecting, designing, developing, performance tuning, capacity planning and Problem Solving. Completes environmental analysis of ISETS / INVEST application needs and requirements of existing and proposed applications to develops technical, structural and organizational designs and specifications; Designs INVEST application portal and GUI interfaces while working with ISETS staff, CSB, and IOT for recovery, high availability, performance, security and maintenance; Applies deep understanding of application delivery in the JAVA model, including but not limited to JAVA Framework, XML, web services, WWF, WPF, WCF, IIS and associated technologies and standards SQL Server Development and Design. Monitors the standards, procedures, integrity and integration of INVEST applications for the future environment; Consults with and makes recommendations to business and technical groups at all levels to define INVEST application requirements, evaluate technology needs, and formulate solutions; Develops work plans for assigned projects and supports their execution; Provides guidance and reviews the ISETS / INVEST application environments on special projects; Works with current architects and other team members on the project; Creates and maintains logical and physical INVEST application modeling and diagrams; Develops and enforces a INVEST portal / GUI strategy and associated policies; Develops working knowledge of the current child support ISETS / INVEST application components; Discern business/technical needs as it relates to child support applications; Graphically and verbally communicate ISETS portal / GUI concepts; Evaluates technology and products to determine the feasibility of adding to DCS IT standards; Identifies and explores the potential strategies for long-term planning implementation; Works with and provides guidance to staff, for maximum utilization of the agency applications; Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Advanced knowledge of portal architecture, GUI design, web based solutions and standards; Advanced knowledge of application assessment, quality, storage and conversion techniques; Advanced knowledge of design and application software, database definition languages, data dictionaries, SQL, computer programming and testing of solutions; Advanced knowledge of solution communications, connectivity and security; Thorough knowledge of computer hardware/software capabilities and configurations; Thorough knowledge of the most recent technical developments in the portal / GUI management field; Thorough knowledge of Portal solutions and languages support GUI development; Ability to perform logic analysis; Ability to read and understand complicated technical documentation; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to apply theories, principles and methodologies to portal / GUI solutions for ISETS / INVEST; Ability to design complex INVEST application architectures to support the use of child support data; Ability to guide and coordinate the work of others.
