This client is in need of an Oracle Database Administrator, to backfill a current DBA who will be moving into management soon. This person will be the only DBA on this team, and their time day-to-day will be 50% maintenance and 50% implementation. This person should have experience with Oracle 9i, 10g, and 11g, as well as the below listed capabilities within these technologies. - Home creations - Database creation, backup, export, import, etc - Security patching - Performance monitoring - Platforms: Microsoft Windows Server and IBM AIX are required - OID name resolution Additional Job Info: If the resource also has Microsoft SQL Server and other support capabilities, those would be beneficial talents as well. Length of the contract is undetermined at this time, but will go at least 6 months. It could become a full-time position, but the manager cannot make guarantees due to the dynamics of the Novartis/Alcon IT structure alignment activities. Redhat Linux experience is desired as well.
