Our client uses Agile programming techniques, such as test-driven development, continuous integration and testing, and story-based iterative development to build better software in a better way. This individual will be responsible for completing daily commitments as part of the Scrum team. Responsibilities: * Meet development sprint deadlines within Agile methodology * Provide recommendations for team/activity efficiencies * Must be forward thinking to anticipate tasks outside of the normally identified steps * Ability to dig into areas that may be out of comfort zone to demonstrate a willingness to learn new things * Participate in Enhancement/Requirements meetings and provide recommendations and/or risks * Must be able to adapt to changing priorities in a timely and efficient manner * Must be self motivated and willing to accept change * Must possess the abiltiy to effectively communicate status, issues, key events and concerns with Scrum Master and other management team members * Must take ownership of all assigned tasks and project related assignments * Ensure documentation is completed for task updates/changes * Ensure Development Team processes and procedures are followed * Analyzes business requirements and transform them to relevant object design/solutions * Ability to contribute to the creation of an environment that facilitates high performance and motivates individuals to work collaboratively as a team * Optimize performance and scalability as necessary to meet business goals of application and environment * Must be flexible and willing to pitch in where needed. This may mean on occasion helping with other functions (e.g. QA, Operations) * Performs data modeling, logical database design, maintenance & monitoring * Provide technical assistance to all internal/external customers during system problems and implementation * Design, Develop, and Test data migration procedures Oracle DBA Qualifications: * 5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL experience is required using stored procedures, packages, functions and triggers * 1 - 3 years Java coding experience is required * Experience with tools like Quest Toad is required * Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of Java development staff * Expertise in performance tuning of SQL in a production environment * Practical TDD/JUnit experience and the ability to deliver quality unit-tested solutions is highly preferred * Expertise in Eclipse, Java, JSF and Oracle 10G are all preferred * Familiarity with JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, XML, HTML, XHTML, Servlets is preferred * Familiarity with Java open source technologies including Spring 2.0+, Webflow, JSF, Richfaces, Ant, JUnit, Hibernate (or some other ORM) is preferred * Familiarity with Object Oriented Design Patterns is a plus * Familiarity with UML modeling techniques and the use of UML documenting tools is a plus * Past Experience in an Agile Software Development project using Scrum or XP is preferred
