Our client is seeking a MID-level resource responsible for enterprise SAN Administration. This involves strategic advisement regarding storage best practices, setting up proper governance procedures, and hands-on installation needs Required Skills: STORAGE AREA NETWORK (SAN) Administration, Migration, and Installation EMC VNX SAN (Dell SAN exp. also a plus) Windows Server OS Management Installation Networking Experience VMWare SQL 2008 (a plus, not required) Linux/Unix (a plus, not required) Responsibilities - Manage server and storage (SAN) hardware migration and new server implementation - Provide Storage Area Network Engineering and Administration. - Assist with implementation, design, install, and support all software and hardware - Migration of server and storage data from one SAN environment to another - Configuration of new VM Enterprise Windows servers and host machines with storage provision and migration related to SAN - Update hardware, operating systems, and software as needed to provide needed functionality and security. - Operating systems include VMWare, Windows, and Linux is a plus. - Monitor systems and provide information and statistics relevant to system capacity limits on data storage, system utilization, etc. to the team with enough lead-time to avoid system crashes and data loss. - Install, tune, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain all servers relevant to the supported applications including all necessary tasks to perform operating system administration, user account management, and networking configuration.
