Our client is seeking a Java PL/SQL Developer for their Seattle, Washington location. Your specialty is Java; but you have strong experience with and enjoy working with PL/SQL in an Oracle database environment. Your Next Challenge: * Developing feature designs increasingly independently * Participating in code development by actively writing code and conducting unit testing * Following lean and agile development practices including being a highly collaborative participant on Scrum teams using agile/scrum development methodology * Developing Java-based solutions for a variety of company asset management and image processing applications * Writing PL/SQL stored procedures for databases that support company services and sites * Building, extending and maintaining web services in an enterprise environment * Participating in daily scrums to discuss accomplishments and next plans As an ideal candidate you have a passion for and experience working with media files of various types (audio, video, still images, composite) and have worked with systems that manage digital assets. What You'll Need: * BS Degree in Computer Science or hard science * J2EE certification is very desirable. * Able to read and write JAVA * Understanding of multiple threaded application design * Preferred knowledge of concurrent Java utilities available in JDK 1.5.x * Knowledge and experience writing PL/SQL and SQL in an Oracle database * Strong experience developing in Enterprise applications; JBoss and Tomcat preferred * Experience with EJB 2.x or 3.x preferred but not required * Thorough understanding of web application structure and design required, particularly in web services using SOAP * Preferred knowledge and understanding of SOA * Demonstrable knowledge and experience with front end technologies; JSP, HTML/DHTML, AJAX, CSS, JavaScript, and XML/XSL * Bonus for knowledge and experience with media file manipulation * Work from verbal and written instructions of varying levels of detail * Exhibits a high level of individual initiative * Works well in a team environment
