This ETL Developer position in Oakland, California is responsible for development and support of Data warehouse and Business Intelligence applications using Informatica, Oracle, and BI tools. This role will require you to closely work with IT and business users to understand requirements and design the system. The term of this contract: 3 Months Contract-to-Hire! Responsibilities: * Design and develop ETL jobs in Informatica against Relational Databases and Flat files * Gather business requirements and create technical specifications and ETL mapping documents * Work closely with the Data Modeling Team and DBAs * Develop UNIX Shell scripts for jobs automation * Develop error handling capabilities and performance tuning * Develop and execute the Unit test plan and support SIT / UAT testing * Troubleshoot and analyze production issues and provide support (off-hours at times) The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * Experience Level: 6+ years * A BS Degree is preferred and an Associate's Degree is required * 6+ years of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence design and development experience * 5+ years of experience in ETL Development; using Informatica * Informatica 8.6.1 would be plus * Troubleshoot ETL failures and defects and remediate them * Experience in resolving ETL performance issues is required * Strong UNIX and Windows scripting skills * Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle 10g or later with a proven ability to perform thorough analysis * Teradata experience will be a plus * Knowledge of software development life-cycle for data warehouse and Business Intelligence projects * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work independently or on a team with high motivation and quick learning * Excellent analytical, technical aptitude; and proven ability to solve problems and the ability to engage effectively with business and technical teams Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.
