Software Guidance and Assistance, Inc. (SGA), has a premier financial client with an immediate need for a Python Developer for a long term contract position in Jersey City, NJ. Resource will be working in the Operational Risk Technology Departments, in providing solutions to operational risk business. The requirements and scope for the project are being fleshed out and the delivery will be in phases beginning in July through 2014. This requirement is for resources having strong Object Oriented Programming skills (Python ) RESPONIBILITIES * Performs complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis * Performs design, implementation and maintenance of complex and secure multiple product modules/sub-systems using Object Oriented & UML * Participates in product design meeting * Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products * Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions to the problems * Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits * May assist in performing on-site client work on complex applications * Documentation of development work * May serve as a product architect: Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives * Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including Client environment, performance criteria and competitive issues * Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology * Drives continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design Qualifications: * Experience in UML * Experience in Object Oriented technology using Python * Familiarity with working in a Linux/Unix/BSD environment. * Passion for industry best practices * Great communication skills, both written and spoken. * Prioritization of security and privacy. * 3 years of proven Python development * Must have internet and operating system security fundamentals * Must have experience designing and developing highly scalable systems * Experience working in a diverse multi-technology environment * Experience with open source projects
