Our client is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager that can handle large, multi-year Portal projects. This person will leverage SharePoint, Web Technologies, and at least a dozen integrations and web services. The Project Manager (PM) is an Information Technology professional who has overall accountability for delivering application development projects. He/she will plan and direct the project lifecycle activities for multiple projects. This includes: creating the project scope, determining the resources required, estimating the project costs, developing a project budget, defining the project schedule, assigning tasks, scope control, project communications, implementation, and the turnover to production support. The PM will work closely with business sponsors and internal IT teams to evaluate the business scope/objectives, assess impacts to the project and develop the most cost-effective and efficient solutions. He/She will collaborate with the development managers to ensure proper technical personnel are assigned to the project and is also involved in understanding complex business processes in order to develop solutions that are cost effective and meet business needs. The PM is also required to work closely with business users and other IT team members to understand and help define business objectives/goals and align projects to organizational strategy. Additionally, the PM drives gathering information as input to ROI analysis and business case studies for project approval. Project Managers must coordinate communication and collaboration among internal and external technical resources in order to derive technical and functional solutions to address both tactical and strategic business issues and initiatives.
