One of SGAs major financial clients is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator for a contract to hire position in Jersey City, NJ THIS POSITION IS A RIGHT TO HIRE ROLE (NO CORP TO CORP!) Candidate will work as part of a Global Services Operations (GSO) team that is responsible for Level 2/3 service support and delivery. Through its Global Service Desk and Infrastructure Operations Centers, GSO provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services, while its Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and execute industry-leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer outages and impacts. Shifts hours are based on a 24x7x365 follow the Sun model: Early or Late Shift (7:00 AM - 6PM ET or 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM) Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday As a Database Administrator, you will work in a team environment to provide database support including: * Upgrades * Performance Monitoring * Database Software Installation * Replication Management * Diagnosing system problems * Disaster Recovery * Leading and participating in initiatives to improve service offerings * Creating and communicating service delivery procedures and run-books * Managing SLAs and deadlines * Vendor escalation * Providing timely resolutions to break/fix issues * Performing duties following all Banking standards regarding engagement, change management and escalation Required Skills: * 5 years of experience in complex, large-scale distributed environments * 5 years of support experience with Oracle(9i/10G/11G); experience with Sybase is a plus * Understanding of security best practices * Familiarity with database monitoring tools (Tivoli, Oracle OEM, MOM preferred) * Experience with VMware is a plus * RAC/Clustering installation and support experience is required * Installation of database software and related products, i.e. state monitoring (ESM), Tivoli UA, etc. * Strong experience in developing and maintaining relational databases including backup/recovery procedures is required * Experience with database warehouses, clustering, replication, and disaster recovery strategies * Experience in performance monitoring and tuning * Experience in logical and physical database design * Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Ability to develop strong client relationships Ability to work under pressure SGA is a Certified Womans Business Enterprise (WBE) celebrating over thirty years of service to our national client base.
