Our client is currently seeking a Software QA Engineer. Main Duties: * Serve as a subject matter expert for one or more functional areas of our applications, typically of moderate to high complexity * Complete test preparation and test execution tasks as assigned by the QA Manager * Design and implement functional test plans and test cases based on system understanding and analysis of functional and system specifications * Map test cases to requirements to ensure complete test coverage * Identify test data requirements and generate required test data * Prioritize test cases taking into account business priorities, risk, and combinatorial analysis * Maintain test case management tool for assigned areas of test suite ownership * Configure test environments as necessary to support test efforts * Execute Functional, Regression, and System testing for primarily web-based applications * Report software defects and shepherd them through the defect life cycle to closure * Work with peers in development and other organizations to troubleshoot and resolve project issues that are technical and non-technical in nature * Participate in and occasionally lead process improvement efforts within QA and the larger technology organization * Report test progress and quality status to project stakeholders * Mentor and oversee the work of more junior engineers as assigned * Participate in project release efforts ranging in scope from small to very large Software QA Engineer Qualifications: * Requires 5+ Years in Software QA * Ability to work alone or on a larger team * Must have excellent communication and leadership qualities * Experience with HP Tools (Quality Center, Service Manager) is a plus * Must have SQL Query skills
