Day-to-day job responsibilities and expectations: * Develop, support, and maintain web-based applications using J2EE development framework including HTTP, HTML, CSS, Java, Servlets, JSP, Struts, JSF, and database technologies * Design, code, test, and debug software applications according to standards * Independent problem solving and troubleshooting skills * Strong technical background to troubleshoot environmental issues * Practitioners of the IT Application Development profession primarily focus on providing high quality, cost effective information technology solutions to business partners by creating new or modifying and/or supporting existing software applications * Associates are expected to design, code, analyze, configure, unit test, and maintain applications * With full competency, devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results * Design, code, test, debug, and document those programs * Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * Undergraduate studies in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or related field is preferred * Web Development * J2EE, MVC (Struts), JDBC, JSP, relational databases, SQL, XML, Hibernate, Servlets, and JavaScript * IBM Rational Application Developer and Eclipse * Maven, SVN, Hudson, and JUnit Desired: * Experience working on an Agile Development Team * WebSphere Application Server and UNIX
