This two-month contract role requires writing and editing compelling web copy for a national audience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Write and edit creative, engaging content for web properties and applications (concise user focused explanatory copy, FAQs, error messages). Partner with Web Content Strategist, UX Designer and product team to produce products that educate and empower the health consumer. Partner with subject matter experts to explain product / tool to end user in easy-to-understand manner. Participate in collaborative multi-disciplinary work sessions, shepherding content through agile development process. Track, coordinate and prioritize concurrent web projects. Maintain consistent writing style and voice across channels. Ensure that online content complies with corporate brand standards, web style guide, legal and compliance. Operate without day-to-day formal guidance. Work productively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. QUALIFICATIONS BA in English, journalism, advertising, marketing or other relevant field or equivalent education and experience 4+ years demonstrated experience writing for the web Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail Must have a background in web content and the ability to write concisely and effectively to create web experiences that are compelling, informative and user-friendly Knowledge of web analytics Experience working with content management systems preferred Strong technical literacy, with skills in following systems: Word, basic HTML, XML, Excel, PowerPoint Ability to be flexible, shift gears quickly, think on the fly, and deal with competing priorities Ability to communicate effectively, diplomatically, and on a reasonably technical level in cross-functional teams Ability to use copy to guide users through the web experience with as few words as possible User empathy and passion for creating great user experience Outside-the-box problem solving capabilities Project management skills, with ability to organize and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines Experience working with a cross-functional team in an Agile Development environment preferred Experience in insurance or health industry, e-commerce, or retail industry desired This contract position is expected to be 2 months in duration.
