Manufacturing Engineer
TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in Anoka, MN. Job Description: The Manufacturing Engineer will provide manufacturing support for the new Force-on-Force products during product development and the transition to full production. Job Duties: Perform major project management assignments including responsibility for: Capital expenditure justification, equipment/process design and development, project spending, project execution timing, and resource management. Investigates and troubleshoots production difficulties and ensures corrective and preventative measures are implemented. Develops improvements to tooling and processes for the manufacture of existing products by changing the present specifications and supervising special tests concerning product improvement. Along with Product Development, introduces new products and the tools to manufacture them. Assists in establishing specifications and procedures under which the new products will be made. Directs any special tests or limited production runs for standardization of the new product. Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities such as improved material utilization, increased machine/process efficiency, reduced cost of poor quality, etc. Reviews tools and perishable machine parts drawings for the necessity of revision on tolerances, surface finishes, dimensions, material selection and initiates Engineering Change Orders where justified. Experience: Four or more years of manufacturing engineering experience. Hands on experience with Six Sigma tools and techniques and lean manufacturing concepts including statistical/DOE experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science required. Experience and/or education in Materials Engineering. Cad experience (Solidworks). Desired but not required: Masters degree in Engineering. Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Experience and/or education in Materials Engineering. Small Caliber ammunition manufacturing experience. Installation and maintenance of automated systems.
