An social networking web site geared towards international friendship, travel and language learning is looking to improve its customer service. We are looking for an experienced customer service representative to help answer support inquiries via email and on our web site's forum. Our users come from all over the world and are on many different time zones, so you can work at any time throughout the day (and even have other jobs on the side). Requirements: - Excellent written English. - Knowledge of other languages is a plus, especially Russian, Chinese, French, Turkish and Spanish. - Friendly and outgoing, but professional manner - Familiar with social networking sites - Ability to learn new interfaces and use web sites effectively Your responsibilities will include: - Helping users with issues including lost passwords, account deletion, etc. - Serve as a bridge between management and users for technical bugs and other issues - Summarize to site staff what users are having most trouble with (so that we can fix these things) We are looking for a person who can dedicate at least 20 hours per week to this on an ongoing basis. We are seeking someone to be the friendly face of the site -- to help answer support inquiries via email and on our web site's forum. We'd like to hire an interesting (and interested!), well-rounded person who is enthusiastic about our mission. In addition to problem solving and writing, do you like to meet and interact with people from other countries? Travel? Learn languages? If so, you might be the perfect fit! Ideally, you should have: - Flawless command of written English with proper grammar/punctuation and idiomatic usage - A friendly and outgoing, but professional, manner - Thorough familiarity with social networking sites - Ability to learn new interfaces and use web sites effectively - Not required, but a big plus is knowledge of another language, especially Russian, Chinese, French, Turkish or German Your responsibilities will include: - Helping users with issues including lost passwords, account deletion, etc. - Serve as a bridge between users and the development team to resolve technical bugs and other issues - Summarize to site staff the issues that users are having the most trouble with (so that we can fix these things) In the future, there might be opportunities to take on more responsibilities, including: - Writing how-to guides, FAQs and advice for users -- as well as other copywriting - Community and forum moderation - Interacting with our users on FB and Twitter - Marketing, organizing meet-ups and events We are looking for a person who can dedicate around 20 hours per week to this on an ongoing basis. While the volume of support inquiries varies, you can probably plan on around 3-4 hours a day, which may increase as the site continues to grow.
