A web application that allows users to make magazines. A part of it would be like http://www.jilster.com allowing users to sign up and create a magazine by defining the basic features like categories, pages etc but the feature of "Call for Articles" would be little different from jilster. In Jilster Chief Editor (user who created the magazine) invites other users to contribute on specific pages but what I want is inviting users to submit their articles category wise before a given deadline. Once that is done, the Chief Editor must be able to choose the articles from the submitted ones and apply different available templates (one column, two column, three column etc) with slight font and color customization. After all articles have been choosen and applied with different templates, Chief Editor can choose ads to put in the magazine and publish the magazine. The magazine must be published in two formats, one would be web versions, more like a wordpress magazine site providing all articles, issues, archiving and authors and the other format would be like the actually soft copy of that magazine more like a magazine uploaded on http://issuu.com. You can also use openzine. This is the basic idea, Jilster gives the basic pictures but lacks following features 1. Category/ Article wise 'Call for Article' feature. 2. Continuation of a magazine issue wise, for example in jilster you can create different magazine but there is no genuine feature for creating new issue of a existing magazine. 3. You have to feed each and everything to all pages, there is no automatic creation of index page, but what I want is automatic creation of index page because all the articles are available it wont be an issue to create a index page automatically. 4. Jilster only creates the flash version (issuu like) of a magazine, what I want is a web version of that magazine as well which will be like a wordpress magazine site or any magazine site for that matter, where you can see the latest artciles on top of the previous ones making a trackable archiving system and sharable magazine platform.
