System Administrator Location: Chicago Desired Start: ASAP Anticipated End: December 31, 2012 (with potential extensions) Installs, configures and maintains the operating systems. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware and applications software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports related problems on the server. Duties include installing and maintaining (from a server or system perspective) operating systems, database management systems, and programming tools. Monitors and tunes systems software and networks for optimal performance. Also installs new user accounts, creates batch administration scripts and runs systems backups and disaster recovery operations. Required - WebSphere Application Server and IHS/Apache server Administration • Proven problem solving and debugging skills • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical ability • Working knowledge of IBM WAS Version 6 • Knowledge of J2EE, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, JDBC, J2EE Patterns, STRUTS and IBM portal services (portlets) would be a preference GENERAL INFORMATION: US Citizens, Perm Residents,EAD,TNPermit holders, and local candidates highly preferred, but others with outstanding skills will be considered.
