Design - Fresh new look for pet eCommerce - SitStay.com
Organization name SitStay.com Description of the organization and its target audience SitStay.com is an eCommerce site for dog food, treats and supplies. Primary audience is dog owners, more of large breeds rather than smaller dog breeds. Shoppers come to site to regularly purchase treats and food for their dogs. Industry Animal & Pet Existing website to reference www.sitstay.com Number of pages needed 2 Page descriptions SitStay.com's design is a bit dated. I need a fresh new look while preserving the branding (i.e. the logo should stay the same). Need the following two pages designed - 1. Landing Page - include deal box and slideshow like on EntirelyPets.com. Top across navigation menus also similar. The landing page should provide sensible navigation for users at the top, and a pick of new and most popular products on the page. There should be a secondary way to navigate products: "Shop by Breed" This allows shopper to select their breed and see products specific to it. 2. Product Page - see examples on SitStay.com and EntirelyPets.com. This page is where a customer adds a product to their shopping cart. In the simplest case, user will enter quantity desired and click 'Add to Cart'. Is some case, same item may be available in multiple sizes. Eg - http://www.sitstay.com/dog/supplies/servlet/product_10001_10001_55810_-1_Jolly+Ball+Tug-n-Toss_13251_45904_ - User can add to cart or add an item to their wishlist. - The design should show mini-cart - in the top right preferably. - Search box should be top center Style/theme ideas for the website None specified. What to avoid Avoid the following - 1. Avoid tall headers - the main content should begin fairly close to the top. 2. Use only Web-standard fonts (maybe google fonts) 3. Most content should be above the fold. 4. Target screen size of 1024x768 5. No dark theme - use light background (white) and very subtle shading, if any. Site needs to look clean, modern and fresh 6. Content width should be around 960px. 7. Site should not be so different from existing site that old customers are lost on the new one. Inspirational websites www.bestbullysticks.com colors, layout www.entirelypets.com colors, layout, navigation, user actions in the top header Notes Upgraded look, but not too radically different from existing site. Returning customers must know that it is still the same site. So use same logo and colors very close to existing theme.
