Seeking 3D Model and Animation Artist
I am an aspiring video game developer seeking a talented 3D Model and Animation artist to assist me in the production of my game. I have already built the game engine and have a working demo, however I need additional art assets and animations in order to take the game to the next level of production. This would ideally be a long-term partnership in which we would work together to create a great game. Since I am working on this game on my own free time and it is a personal project which I am doing outside of my full time job, I would like to find someone who wants to pursue the same situation. For this type of partnership, the only thing I would be able to offer is equity (i.e. a share of any profits produced by the game). However, I am always eager to meet new talent and I am more than happy to pay for good work, so if you are not someone who is interested in working long-term and just wants to make some quick money, I would love to hear from you as well. My qualifications are as follows: - Must be proficient in Maya, 3DS Max, or an equivalently awesome 3D modeling program - Must be able to create complex, realistic animations. - Must be fluent in English (Sorry, I don't speak any other languages) The following are some nice bonuses: - Experience working professionally creating 3D Models and Animations - Able to create and modify 2D Texture art - A passion for video games A little bit about me: I am a computer programmer currently working for an NYC start-up. As their lead engineer, I have been responsible for creating our system backend, designing our database, and writing core system software. I have overseen and spent extensive time building some of our most complex projects, including the creation of our web and iOS application, which required working extensively with OpenGL ES on the iPhone. I am proficient in many programming languages, including but not limited to C/C++, Java, PHP, and Javascript. Additionally, I have very strong SQL and NoSQL knowledge. While I have learned a lot about client/server relationships and how to manage a multi-server environment in my current position, I was obviously unable to aquire some of my video game knowledge from there. Therefore, with the intent to pursue my passion, I begun teaching myself with an entire library of books that I purchased to learn the in and outs of how to build video games. I have learned so much about the types of components that make up a game engine and what it takes to make it in the gaming industry. As much as it is a little bit scary, it is also a very exciting prospect and I love putting the components of what I've learned into action by developing my own project. The truth is, I am very happy where I work and love all the people there. But, as much as that is so, video games are a passion for me, and I have to pursue my dream of creating a video game. I don't have a ton of free time, as my job is very demanding, but I am willing to spend any free time I have working on my game in order to make it a reality. I begun the process a couple months ago and the project is fully underway, with a custom game engine built and working excellently. I have also purchased some 3D models that I have been using to develop enemy AI and the game world. If this all works out, I hope one day to be able to work for a top game shop writing the best games in the world. To me, this is the first place to start.
