Production Manager
An exciting opportunity to work for an established company in Kent as a Production and Purchasing Manager for a fixed term of 1 year working 38.75 hours per week, has become available. The main purpose of the role is to plan, organize, coordinate and control production within this highly technical organisation. The main responsibility is to ensure that goods are produced efficiently and are of the correct quantity, quality and cost. The Production Manager must also produce goods at the right price and on time to meet customer demands. Responsibilities: Ensure that all Health and Safety & Company policies and Procedures are adhered to Work as part of a team to deliver manufacturing targets in support of the overall business plans and customer requirements Provide clear reporting of manufacturing progress against agreed plans clearly identifying any risks and mitigation plans to Management Identify, plan and implement continuous improvement opportunities in support of cost reduction, improved efficiencies and industry best practice Work closely with the Purchasing, Stores and Goods In team to ensure that the needs of the department are met Motivate and empower strong leadership Provide coaching and support for all for all manufacturing staff in line with individual and company objectives Work closely with the Production Engineer and R&D team to ensure smooth transition of new products into manufacturing Using problem solving skills to analyse the root cause of any problems Work with senior Management to identify, understand and support business plans Work with HR to create staff development programs Represent production at quarterly quality meetings Provide daily guidance to team members in the daily production meetings Due to the nature of the role the following skills and experience are required although all applications will be considered; Experience as a leader of an electronics manufacturing team Experience of inventory management Experience in a lean manufacturing environment Knowledge of critical SMT processes and mechanical assembly Knowledge of quality requirements, including ISO 9001 Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels Ability to manage high product mix with low-high volumes Hands on approach, likes to lead by example Team builder Due to the high volume of applicants applying for all roles, we can only reply to candidates with the most relevant skills and experience.
