This position is a 6 month, temp-to-hire, government contract position. CITIZENSHIP, GREEN CARD/EAD are REQUIRED. Title: Oracle DBA Scope The RDECOM Maintenance Engineering Division (MED) provides aviation engineering services in support of the United States Army and DoD’s rotary wing aircraft fleets. Engineering services are provided primarily for depot-level repair and are conducted at the Corpus Christi Army Depot, Texas. The organization’s mission has recently expanded to include field-level engineering support provided onsite at operating locations worldwide. Our client is a provider of DBA and Systems Administration Services for this effort. Our support includes, but is not limited to, the following services: LAN and Oracle System Administration, Database Administration, Software Development Support and Engineering Support System (ESS) management SPECIFIC TASKS Standard Job Description : Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Typical Minimums: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Specific Job Description : Mid-Level Oracle Systems Administrator Our Client is looking for a Systems Administrator. The position requires an individual have a basic understanding of full cycle systems development life-cycle, a proven mastery of troubleshooting techniques and ability to solve problems quickly in a high pressure environment. The individual must also have excellent decision making skills, especially when limited information is available. In addition, skills in Incident Management are required. Must be able to liaise with the management team, customer DELL and Oracle for hardware and product issues. The candidate must also have a good understanding of the DELL, Oracle and Windows Product Matrices in the areas of EMC storage arrays, DELL PowerEdge R610 and R710’s, DELL SC1435’s, Oracle RDBMS and Oracle Fusion Middleware suite, SQL Server 2003 and 2008 and Windows Server 2003 and 2008 in order to verify whether the stacks are certified. The roles of this position are further detailed below. The selected candidate will define and implement a database centric application delivery infrastructure to support the client’s Engineering Support System (ESS) that is cost effective, robust, scalable, reliable and recoverable. The infrastructure must support production, as well as, support a parallel application development environment that mirrors production. Candidate must be able to design and recommend an architecture to provide this infrastructure consisting of various components including, but not limited to, high-speed networks, high capacity/high speed Network Attached Storage (NAS), several Oracle Database Servers, various Oracle Application Servers and backup systems. The architecture must conform to DoD regulations and to current industry standard. Implementation of the architecture requires the specification, selection and integration of various software components which support diverse security and interface requirements (Single-Sign-On (SSO), and Smart Card (CAC) authentication. Candidate will be required to ensure processes and procedures are in place to provide security, backup, recovery and performance analysis required in order to identify and resolve program deficiencies. Additionally, candidate may be required to provide assistance to software developers in utilizing and understanding the functions and services provided in the development of custom application software.
