Academic Manager
You will be jointly responsible for providing leadership, direction and management of all school staff in order to provide an excellent service to our students. You will also contribute to the Operating and Education Plans and our vision for the future, ensuring that all staff are fully engaged to contribute to this. Duties will also include: • Jointly with the Student Services Manager: - Take overall responsibility for the leadership and management of Bell Cambridge - Input into budget and financial reporting processes - Ensure the supervision and discipline of students, as appropriate - Ensure that students receive excellent information and advice about their learning throughout the customer journey - Ensure prompt and appropriate information is provided to students (and parents and sponsors when required), including end-of-course certificates and reports • Recruit, induct, develop and performance manage teaching staff; • Ensure that the teaching and learning programme is provided to the highest standard; • Ensure students are grouped effectively and manage class changes; • Coordinate deployment of teaching staff with reference to students’ needs and teacher professional development; • Ensure adequate cover for absent teaching and resources staff; • Establish reliable quality assurance procedures and ensure that excellence in learning and teaching is reflected in all QAD and external inspection reports. Person Specification: You will be degree level qualified with a Delta qualification or equivalent and experience in an EFL management position at Director of Studies level. You must have experience of developing EFL teachers through observation, INSETT and other CPD frameworks. You will have a proven record of successfully managing the academic progress of international students, at individual and group level, and have been involved in the formal assessment of students.
