My client is currently upgrading the back-end infrastructure to Active Directory and Exchange 2010. As part of this, a number of preliminary changes need to be made to every desktop and notebook device in the estate. This role will be to visit sites and users (pre-scheduled and managed directly) to check the users device and ensure it has a number of service packs etc installed. The resource will need to be able to: *Amend/update physical memory configurations on a PC or Notebook device. *Understand Windows XP professional and be able to install and amend service packs, applications etc. *Work on their own initiative following instructions from team leaders. The role will be meeting and communicating with the end-clients of the IM&T division (technical and non-technical users) and must be able to express solutions in a non-technical manner, such that their audience can understand. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for the Job: *Proven experience as a level 2/3 service desk operative *Core Microsoft XP Professional support and administration *Core Understanding of PC and Notebook hardware (Dell product) *Core Blackberry BES administration (version 4) Optional Articulate and able to present findings and hold discussion at all levels. *Core Ability to work on their own initiative *Core Relevant experience in the public sector.
