Desktop Support and Deployment Engineer Southampton £11.84 per hour – Basic An opportunity has arisen for my client, a leading provider of IT communication services are looking for a Desktop Support and Deployment Engineer to join their onsite client based Southampton. There is a number of short term contracts available. The successful candidate will be required to interview on 22.08.12. They require a competent and enthusiastic engineer to be proficient in desktops support, break fix, deployments and customer service. Responsibilities Laptop Deployments at desk Performing OAT on n workstations Win7 Rebuilds onsite (if required) Following a script and migrating user data Removal of legacy hardware Update Inventox with deployment details Ensure required paperwork is completed as necessary Rollback activities. (Again following scripts) Desktop Support To proficiently troubleshoot end users issues and faults To deliver excellent customer service to end-users Build a good customer relationship with the end users onsite Follow guidelines and SLA’s to provide a professional service To actively and willingly answer any computer based questions from the end users Skills Required Excellent Desktop Support and Deployment exp Laptop and Desktop Build previous exp Windows Microsoft applications Have a working knowledge of PC architecture and knowledge of popular operating systems i.e. DOS and Good communication skills Excellent customer facing skills Able to work under pressure Professional approach Theoretically and practically demonstrated experience of configuration and fault diagnosis to hardware level Demonstrable practical experience in an IT installation and support role Capable of working independently on a wide range of products Time management and Organisational skills Desktop hardware (memory/hard-disk/network cards etc) - configuration/ install As long as you have the ability to work well in a team and support others, have the ability to work well under pressure and you are an enthusiastic and supportive individual - we're sure you will make an excellent addition to the team.
