The Company Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently working on an exciting opportunity with a large multi-national organisation based in South Manchester. The Accountant role is offered on a 6 month fixed-term contract starting as soon as possible. Due to rapid expansion, this need is urgent and only candidates who are available on short notice periods can be considered. The Role As part of a large team, the Accountant will manage a range of controllership activities including month-end close activity, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and external reporting for VAT and Intrastat. You will be working with a large number of business units/markets located across the EMEA region and you will be taking a lead position in ensuring that all departments responsibilities are delivered efficiently and effectively. The Accountant is the technical lead for the business units in Financial Accounting and Reporting and you will be working closely with customers to ensure a high quality of service. You will be responsible for ensuring the reported accounts are fully understood and the variance analysis is carried out on the P&L and balance sheet, preparing and reviewing a range of complex reconciliations including VAT and inter-company. SOX compliance throughout all of your tasks will be key.To be considered for this role you will have experience of Financial Accounting and Reporting within a large, complex organisation and will have a good understanding of balance sheet compliance and SOX. You must be prepared to work with a fast-paced and changing environment and have a good understanding of SAP. An additional language to English is desirable but not essential. A relevant qualification i.e. ACCA/CIMA is essential. Salary & Benefits The salary for this role will be offered at £35-40k dependent on experience.
