Our Client is currently seeking a Desktop/Network Technician. SUMMARY Provide on-site support for issues that cannot be resolved by a Level 1 Analyst and are entered in queue, sometimes requiring desk-side assistance or project support. This role is 50% reactive and 50% proactive in resolving desktop issues and requests with also some network troubleshooting involved. Will include, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all desktop images, software and hardware for associates in various locations. Will diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and support when required. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS • 3 years experience in a desk-side technical customer service role, or applicable certifications and/or professional training (i.e. A+ certification). • Working knowledge of LAN (Ethernet, TCP/IP) and WAN (DS-3, TCP/IP) design. • Strong working knowledge of hardware components of Networked PCs, and printer troubleshooting. • Working knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF and BGP in a TCP/IP environment) and internet technologies. • Working knowledge of VoIP environment • Thorough understanding of current Microsoft OS and Office applications, e-mail systems, PSTs, Calendars, browsers, and remote access, VPN configuration, client anti-virus protection, hard drive encryption and wireless networking. • Ability to work with Group policies, administrative rights and patch management. • Working knowledge of centralized management tools like LANDesk, SMS or System Center. • Ability to function effectively within a team oriented environment.
