Product Marketing Manager PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A 2-MONTH + CONTRACT POSITION. 1) Email creation and delivery. Works with the product teams and agencies to create and deliver relevant emails to the marketing database. Emails include beta and launch emails, consideration and engagement emails, nurturing emails, and operational emails. Duties include: Working with the product group to determine feature content and appropriate calls-to-action. Working with internal creative team, and external agencies to create the appropriate graphics that follow brand guidelines while meeting needs of campaign creative. Defining segments and localizations as needed. Defining the lists to be pulled for each segment mailing. Editing content appropriately for segment audiences. Creating and implementing samcaps codes (email tracking codes) in all links to track results through Omniture. Managing all schedules and deliverables to ensure project deadlines are met. Reviewing and testing all emails, both text and HTML before they are blasted. Working closely with the EMEA agencies to determine level of localization, and to ensure localizations and translations are done as needed. This includes segmentation by audience type and by localization. Will test all versions of emails sent to EMEA to ensure copy and links are correct. Monitors send rates with email vendor to ensure that emails are delivered correctly and in a timely manner. Pulls and analyzes preliminary reports for send, open and to determine success of the email program. Will provide readout to stakeholder as appropriate. 2) Contact Management. Works closely with the other RM teams to manage the amount of communications to the developer audience. Responsible for ensuring that the developer and web professional audiences only receive relevant communications. Monitors unsubscribe, bounce, open of communications to ensure the developer marketable universe remains healthy. Negotiates with other RM teams and juggles schedules to ensure that emails are delivered to the customer and prospect offices. 3) Working with other program managers Participates with other RM project managers in ongoing weekly meetings to share best practices Works cross functionally, tag teaming with other program managers on large projects 4) Working with agencies and the field Works with agencies in North America, EMEA, and India to create assets, localize content, and modify existing assets to fit local needs. Must have strong email communication skills and be very responsive due to time differences. Tracks schedules and deliverables to ensure that all schedules are met, quality of work is excellent, and local needs/policies are met, especially in regards to legal and privacy laws. Works with EMEA field marketing and agencies to review, test, and approve all localized emails. Experience Needed: Direct marketing experience – minimum 4 years. Experience with audience marketing is a strong plus. Database marketing experience. Know how to segment audience by various criteria. Is able to understand setting up hierarchy for list pulls to ensure we get the correct customers/prospects. Experience in creating and delivering emails to worldwide audience. This includes: experience with regional preferences, best practices for layout and length, awareness of typical response rates and behaviors, adding codes for tracking. Strong skills analytical skills – adept at creating and manipulating spreadsheets, and at pulling and consolidating reports. Program manager must be proficient at pulling data from spreadsheets, Omniture, and Business Objects. Attention to detail is a must, especially in testing, reviewing content, tracking spend against allocated budget and listed POs. Ability to work across many agencies, product groups, and countries. Ability to manage multiple detailed projects. Experience with Omniture web analytics, Business Objects reporting, Exact Target email tracking, and Leadertech trigger email tracking a plus. Familiar with PowerPoint and can pull together slides Comfortable presenting to small audiences. Education: Minimum BA unless applicant has 5 – 7 years of applicable experience.
