Duration: 6 months Description/ Required Skills: - Familiarity with NYS PSC SIR - Responsible for interactions with developers, owners and operators of Distributed Resources/Independent Power Facilities within the LIPA service territory. - Represent LIPAs interests in matters pertaining to Distributed Resource/Independent Power project development, interconnection and operation. - Stay current on emerging Distributed Resource technologies and evaluate their impact on LIPAs electric T&D system. - Review existing interconnection guidelines and make recommendations for revisions or develop new interconnection guidelines in response to evolving technologies in the electric industry. - In addition, perform inspections of new Distributed Resource /Independent Power installations to ensure full compliance with LIPAs interconnection requirements. - Perform economic and technical analysis of potential cogeneration and CHP projects within the LIPA service territory in support of LIPAs customer retention/attraction efforts. - Negotiate, develop and administer all aspects of interconnection agreements, operating agreements, electric system impact study agreements, electric facilities construction agreements and other power contracts between LIPA and Distributed Resource/Independent Power facility owners and operators. - Perform IPP/FTU generation data download in support of LIPAs revenue requirements reporting process. - Ensure accuracy of generation data reported. - In addition perform monthly Generator Availability Data System (GADS) and DOE reporting for IPP/FTUs as per contractual and LIPA requirements. - Ensure current knowledge of NYISO rules and technical bulletins related to IPP/FTU operations. - Act as lead contact for IPP/FTU facilities and interface between LIPA, ESO and KETS on operational and contractual issues. - Communicate IPP/FTU maintenance and outage schedules to ESO, KETS and LIPA to ensure safe and reliable operations. - Must be available nights, weekends and holidays to respond to IPP/FTU operational emergencies. - Assist as necessary in the execution of PAM Project Management efforts including major and minor interconnections and support of LIPAs Clean Energy Projects. - Technical, Project Management and Organizational.
