For immediate confidential consideration, please contact directly Mindy Berner: firstname.lastname@example.org Oracle DBA Requirements: Experience with HIGH volume (multi-terabyte) database in an OLAP/datawarehouse environment. Proficient with backup and recovery using RMAN and 3rd party media like Tivoli, Veritas, Symantec, etc. Well versed with AIX,Linux O.S or other flavors of Unix including scripting and basic administration. Provide administration and support for Oracle 9i/10g/11g installation, database creation, database optimization and tuning and Oracle Streams. Thorough understanding of partitioning, encryption, ASM, OEM, grid control, replication and other advanced features. Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource usage, and physical implementations of databases. Address a variety of database integration, upgrade, migration, maintenance, conversion and capacity planning issues. Familiarity with RAC; Dataguard is a plus. Strong knowledge and understanding of PL/SQL, stored procedures; triggers is a plus. Oracle Certification (OCP) is desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills to co-ordinate operations with developers, systems administrators and other groups. Responsibilities: To develop, implement and maintain the enterprise database system in a combination UNIX/NT environment ensuring stability and meeting ongoing business needs; to oversee the development of complex data models and logical database design; to develop policies, standards and procedures related to the database environment; and to lead task force to develop and implement an enterprise database system. Other Functions: Develops, implements and maintains the database system ensuring that the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs including logical and physical database design and implementation; structure testing of database designs, applications, and technology platform; security administration, backup and recovery planning; capacity planning; performance and tuning; research and evaluation of new tools and techniques. Develops, revises, and implements policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to effectively administer the database environment. Oversees the development of complex data models and logical database design. Plans and conducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance. Develops and implements plans to oversee the database administration function, and ensures smooth transition to new technology. Performs other duties as assigned. Supports the Total Performance Management initiative. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations. Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions. Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance. Experiernce: (4) years database administration and two (2) years enterprise (Oracle, Progress or SQL) development required. Supervisory experience preferred. Other: Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills. PC literate, including Microsoft Office products. Analytical and interpretive skills. Strong organizational skills.
