Responsibilities: Work with developers and QA to identify and document software functionality, as well as installation and configuration procedures Participate in Agile development sprint planning and daily Stand-up meetings, providing status information according to Agile best practices Seek out opportunities to leverage best practices and reusable documentation objects to meet requirements in an efficient and effective manner Use internal and external feedback to iteratively improve the product documentation Manage tasks and issues as assigned using online issue tracking tools Promote and adhere to Technical Publications style guidelines and best practices Requirements: Enthusiasm, dedication, and passion Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as advanced computer skills 4+ years of technical writing experience; including creating new content, re-writing existing content, and editing copy 2+ years using print-based authoring/publishing tools, such as FrameMaker and Microsoft Word 2+ years using object-oriented authoring/publishing tools, such as Madcap Flare and Robohelp, incorporating HTML and XML 2+ years using source control systems, such as SVN and Git, for updating product build source files as well as documentation source file management 2+ years of planning and writing customer-facing API documentation Able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, and collaborative environment Able to handle multiple projects and meet scheduled, fast-paced deadlines Excellent troubleshooting skills that include researching and investigating issues Experience working with IT industry writing style, such as grammar, sentence form, and structure Degree in English, History, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, or related technical field preferred Preferences: Knowledge of virtual computing and networking concepts Knowledge of software development lifecycles Experience documenting GUI-based systems Experience working in an Agile development environment Experience with structured authoring Sample documentation is encouraged; candidate should provide written examples of constructive and on-point documentation preferably written for IT communities
